Triad Amulet in Glazed Composition

Circa Greco-Roman Period, 332 BC - 395 AD 

Description:  Fascinating miniature Triad amulet in green glazed composition depicting three standing figures (from left): Isis, the infant Horus in the form of Harpocrates, and Nefertum. Attachment loop at top.

Width:  0.62 in. (1.6 cm)

Condition:  Intact. Figures are cursorily detailed but discernible.

Provenance:  Private New England collection of an Egyptian lady who emigrated to the US in 1956.  Said to be ex-Howard Carter.

Exhibited:  Amarillo Art Center, Texas, October 9, 1974-November 3, 1974, as part of group of amulets (#21).
