Evidence of Roman Bath found in Saharan Desert

British archaeologists working in the Sahara desert are shedding new light on an ancient lost kingdom called Garamante.

Known mostly through the passing references by Roman authors who called the Garamantes barbaric and ungovernable nomads, archaeologists are finding evidence that these people lived in fashionable with a vibrant local economy.

Despite the blistering heat of the Saharan sun, these people also mastered the art of desert farming by using a heretofore unknown network of underground irrigation channels.

British archaeologists also confirmed the discovery of rare tiles thought to have been imported as part of a Roman-style bath for a Garamante nobleman or King. This would be the southern-most Roman bath ever found.
