Phoenician Carved Stone MonkeyCirca 6th-3rd Century BC
Description: Charming miniature figure of a crouching monkey skillfully carved from an attractive pale pinkish-orange stone. The hands with articulated fingers are placed over its mouth. Well detailed with circular eyes, arched brows, ears and small tail at the back. Sweet example of an early Punic amulet. FOT Inv: 203.0116. Height: 1 in. (2.5 cm) Condition: Intact as shown.
