Julio-Claudian Lamp with Mars Holding Military TrophyCirca 40-75 AD
Description: Mould made early Roman lamp with voluted nozzle. On the discus, Mars Ultor walks to the left, wearing a waistband tied at each hip, and a crested helmet. In his right hand he carries a lance or spear, and in his left he holds a trophy over his shoulder. The lamp is on a ring base. Loeschcke Type IV and shoulder is Form IIIa. Lenght: 4 in.
