Neolithic Stone Arrowhead from the Holy LandCirca 10,000-5000 BC
Description: A Neolithic Era arrowhead of polished beige-colored stone. This nearly flat arrowhead has a blunt flat base and tapered point. The upper surface has a low central ridge beveled on the sides to create distinct blade-like edges. The underside has been left flat and smooth. Typical example of "flake-tools" created by striking a larger and smaller rock together in such a way as to create flakes of stone in a desired shape. Length: 1.25 in. (3 cm) Condition: Intact. Provenance: Formerly in the Prof. Levenstein Collection, Haifa, Israel, acquired prior to 1955. The arrowhead was found in Israel. Exhibited: Previously on loan to the Herzelia Museum in Tel-Aviv. Museum number: 524/173.
