"Eternal Egypt" Exhibit Opens in Memphis

Eternal Egypt: Masterworks of Ancient Art from the British Museum, ranks as one of the most important exhibitions of Egyptian Art in many years to tour the US. The exhibition opened in last June in Memphis, Tennessee, and will continue through October 21.

More than 140 superb objects from the BM's collection are on display in a 30,000 square foot environment in Memphis' aptly named "Pyramid" building aside the Mississippi River. The display is intended to show the evolutionary changes in art and everyday life from Egypt's Old Kingdom through to the Roman period of the 1st-4th centuries AD.

"Eternal Egypt" is open everyday (June 28 - October 21) 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tickets are $14 for adults, $13 for seniors, $10 for persons with college or military identification, and $6 for children 5-17. Tickets are available by mail from Ticketmaster at 901-743-2787 or at the north entrance of The Pyramid during exhibition hours.
