Crisply Molded Redware Lamp with Dove in Profile
Circa 5th Century AD
Description: Red slipware lamp with a dove depicted in raised relief upon the sunken medallion. Intricate and nicely articulated design decorates dove and lamp shoulder. Two filling holes flank dove. Base ring with two impressed circles.
Height: 5.9 in. (14.6 cm)
Condition: Intact except for repair to tip of handle. Lovely impression.
Provenance: Formerly in a private German collection.
